From An Old Rally
Here is a pic from a Rally I once did. It was a Ferrari, Porsche, and Lambo thing. Notice the police escort, we had them for a while. Then they let us go. I was in an F40 at the time too, one of the slower dogs! Some nice cars though, eh?

From my road trip experience to average 62 mph on 4 lane interstate highway including gas, food, and bodily function stops you would need to average just a little over 80 mph. That meant work thru traffic at 70 and go 85 to 90 in the gaps between groups of cars. I've driven the 900 miles from OKC to Atlanta several times listening to books on tape with the cruise control set on 80 and averaged about 62 including above stated stops. If the route included 2 lane interstate with small towns the open road speeds would need to be much greater to make up for the slower "town" sections.
On 4 lane interstate I have averaged 100 mph over the 1000 miles from OKC to St Louis and back over a 4th of July weekend including stops. The car was a 928GT. Typically drove 75 politely thru the clumps of traffic and from 140 to 160 in the gaps between clumps. The key was to be very polite while in the groups of cars. No tailgating or cutting people off. It got to the point that truckers were holding back traffic so I would have longer and longer spaces to go fast. I noticed because the blocker trucks would move over as I worked my way up to them, honk, and give me a thumbs up as I passed them. It would be several miles before I came up on another couple of truckers. I never saw a patrol car that weekend, but I did get clocked on radar once while doing 160. The V1 instantly went to full bleep. I was the only car on the highway for as far as I could see in either direction. Never saw him and no planes in the sky so guess he decided not to chase or radio ahead.

P.S. I am kidding about everything too, but didn't it sound good though? I don't want people like Mike to think I am serious, again this time!

Well, as the famous rapper MC Hammer said they "Cant Touch This!" We can do whatever we like on the roads, only the consulate can control us; not a Trooper, CIA, or FBI agent, let alone the local police!
