It sure feels that way! I know it's been torn apart in various amounts every year for the past 3 winters.

Apparently, Chris White has been powdercoating the Lindsey fuel rails and it holds up a lot better. I bought a new one from jgporsche that he had powdercoated and it turned out very nice should hold up nice..
Hmmmm, I'll have to chat with Chris about that next time I'm out at his place. Thanks for the info. Mod list? I'll post more when I'm more definite on what I want to do. Here's the short list right now.

Downpipe
Belts, Pulleys, Rollers
Water Pump
Finish AC Delete
Custom 6 point cage
Finish interior
Cut out front sheet metal forward of strut towers, keeping the bumper core intact.
V-mount new intercooler and stock radiator
Vent spare hood
Modify rear 1/4 panels so 295 rear tires fit
New Torque Tube Bearings and delrin inserts
Refresh Transaxle
New front case gasket
New RMS
Clean up a bunch of wiring

Actualy the Lindsey fuel rail looks nice when you polish it. Easy to maintain too! Not a tough job.

Mike – you are welcome to bring box(es) of parts over to bead blast / parts clean if you want. I’ll even set up the polisher for you…!

Funny story for the day – A machinist friend of mine (coincidently named Mike) has the nick name ‘Sid’. After I knew him for a while I had to ask him what that was about – his brothers gave him the nick name when he was a kid – because he took every thing apart to see how it works. His brothers said he worked just like acid…it stuck.

It looks like our Mike is trying for the same nick name!

Forget about helping him out with cleaning parts Chris. I'll tell ya how you can help Mike and me too. We both have OCD = Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Meaning? You can help him choose the right photo down below his signature, which he changes every few minutes like a rotating advertising bill board, just like me with the avatars that change every hour on the hour. Help Chris, we need your expertise!

Come to think of it...it shouldn't be too hard to set up a rotating Avatar...
If I didn’t have these pesky engine projects I would be all over it…

It wouldnt be hard if avatars were truely off site, for caching/size restriction reasons I believe rennlist pulls the avatar to the forum, even if you have it off site. So you couldnt just run a PHP script like I do for my signature.

Pesky engine projects? Psh!

How about a idea for your avatar – morph the turbo in your current avatar into a pile of burning $100’s and back….repeat as needed…

Skip, how is your race car coming? If you ever need some help just let me know. I don't plan to get into mine until after December or later.

Okaayyyyyy today's update, tore down front and rear suspension, engine is down to the shortblock. Turbo is on the bench, cleaned up a bunch of parts. Cylinders look great other than a small score in #3, which wont be an issue. Transaxle is ready to go out (well, I need to put it on a pallet) to Kevin Gross late this week, early next week.

The rear end monster.

Oops.

Found an old style oil pressure regulator. Damnit, atleast I have a new style sitting aronud.

Starting to tear down

Looks mint

Cam Tower off

MINT

Crank pulley stopped me from pulling the plastic cover off and working on the water pump/front case today. Now where did that puller go....

I'm starting to have way to many engine parts on the bench, two more cylinder heads are joining those.

Current state of things... torque tube should get torn down next week

Well, just talked to Kevin Gross

Gearbox is trash, I believe the words "You should find a new one", "Catostrophic failure", and "non repairable" were used. Uhhhg. We discussed several options but I dont have the heart to make a decision right now. Kevin is talking to quaife for me though to see if my LSD is servicable/useable. Considering it had a lifetime warrenty I should atleast be able to salvage that.

Photos soon.... Aparently the pinion bearing exploded and took out pretty much everything.
