Make sure whoever is testing your KLR does not have the Vitesse Wasted Spark system. It will not be a 100% valid test.

It eliminates the coil/distributor/rotor, allows you to use a coil-pack or coil-over-plug for a hotter spark.
As a side benefit, if the DME has a bad final ignition driver, the WS still works.
Be aware, that the WS will not solve the problem you have.

Strange that two different KLR didn't work. Did you check all the power and ground connections to the KLR? If the KLR wasn't powered correctly, the output from the KLR that go to the DME for timing could be floating and that could cause the input to the DME to start oscillating causing the continuous spark generation.

I checked my grounds and power yesterday going to the klr pin 12, 11, 10 did not have ground. I checked them with the klr unplugged. do I have to check them with the klr plugged in? Or is this the problem that I am having. Does anyone know where these ground points are in the car. Pin 14 is getting a good ground. help this is so dam frustrating.
