I have 2 sets of 72Lb . 17104988 PN
Part Number 17113742 (OE # 17104988)
Static Flow Rate @ 43.5 PSI (300KPa) = 75.0 lb/hr / 9.5 gm/sec / 788 cc/min
Static Flow Rate @ 58.0 PSI (400KPa) = 86.6 lb/hr / 11.0 gm/sec / 909 cc/min
Dynamic Flow Rate @ 43.5 PSI = 1.75 gm/pulse - 2.5ms pulse width and 10ms repetition rate
Coil Resistance: 2 Ohms / Low Impedance / Low-Z (Peak-hold ECM drivers or impedance converter required)
Cone Spray Angle - 22.5 degrees - single spray cone. Approximate cone angle for 90% of spray volume

Probably a stupid question and forgive my ignorance but is there any problem with running larger injectors than needed for the moment provided that you have a 3 bar fpr and perhaps a larger fuel pump? Are 72's really for larger displacement engines than 2.5?

333pg333,

When using large injectors, you have to lower the injector duty cycle to a level where you no longer can control the injectors. Based on the brand and size of the injector, this limit is around 1.7ms duty cycle. This is why we rewrote the code to run in semi-sequential mode, instead of batch mode as in stock form. There are other variables that must be set properly when using larger injectors (based on size and brand).

If you can control the injectors properly, using larger injectors is not an issue. We have a 944NA, we use for testing, running 85# injectors and 3bar FP. No problem, of course we had to run the latest semi-sequential software.

The way I see it, if you are planning any future upgrades, get the largest injectors you might need. Of course, you must use the correct software to handle the injectors.
