Default gt racing vented nose fitment

I want to order a gt racing vented nose over the weekend but id like to know how hard its gonna be to install. Is it just a matter of bolting it on?

fiberglass is seldom that easy. Will probably take some shaping and maybe a lay up or two to back fill. Then some sanding, filler and paint...and you're all set. Took me about a day to get mine in.

In terms of getting it on the car. Drill 4 holes and screw it on. In terms of it having street car fitment....

heh, Have fun.

Did you do the paint work yourself? I fiigure I can do all the sanding work myself, but I have no clue what pricing is for getting a part that size painted so I'm just curious.

I painted mine myself. Used to own a paint shop in another life. Shouldn't cost much to have it sprayed though.

bill, can you go into a little more detail for us fiberglass newbies? What exactly did you have to go through to get yours on? I have thought about doing this also but the only fiberglass I have done is race car stuff and no one was worried about what it looked like. Thanks for the help.

Cheers, Josh

My buddy who has a body shop told me to expect something in the ballpark of $200. That would be for prep., prime, paint and clear. I think he included doing a chin spoiler as well.

Mine was actually a really good fit right off from GT with just a little tweaking needed, and $200 for finishing and paint. A rock hitting it put a star in it as opposed to a chip, and it has flexed a tiny bit over the past 2 years, but I think it still looks plenty street-car-worthy.

large gaps. a little twisted. Nothing near a finished product. I still have yet to install because it will certainly be neccessary to have a body shop make it come to acceptable gap distances. But. This is what I expect from any fairly cheap aftermartket part. And it's exactly what I got. All that, and I'm still actually happy with the product.
