How much do you need to turn the black knob per psi? Is it the same on all cars?

Depends on whether it is plumbed for single or dual port. Single port is very touchy. 1/16 to 1/8 turn can be 2 to 3 psi or more. Dual port is less sensitive and 1/4 to 1/2 turn is 1 psi.
