"Please remember that we could EASILY (yes easily) make over 750 RWHP, but at the expense of a decent powerband. We want 400 RW BEFORE 4000 RPM."

must have missed this point in the "my goal towads the end of (last) year 600RWHP" thread....

I remember I'm hoping my S38B36 build is half as good. I love the PurePF stuff.

I know about this car.
He is starting to convince me to use the twin-cam.

Anyone know how big I can make those 2 intake valves??

-Over 400 RWTQ BEFORE 4000 RPM
-2.5 8 valve engine with Motronic controls

Please remember that we could EASILY (yes easily) make over 750 RWHP, but at the expense of a decent powerband. We want 400 RW BEFORE 4000 RPM.
This may sem trivial, but it is not.

SOOOOO - would anyone like to bet against us?? Speak up please.
You're joking right? If not I'll bet against you. You didn't even make 400@4k this time and next time you plan on upping the low and the high end? This is physics not black magic, unless you plan on spraying to get it spooled you have no chance. As is you have lost 150tq from 4500rpm to 6000rpm, in my mind that it ugly. You need a bigger turbine housing and maybe wheel to break 600, but this is only going to drop your power a 4k rpm. I wish you luck as you will need it.

TMS he's talking about the BMW engine.

Jim, you cannot use the S38 DOHC head on anything other than the S38 block. Unless you machine an M30 or M88 block to have the different oil drains (a couple thousand dollars, waste of cash). You'd be best off chatting with Andreas about his build (there is a good thread on bimmerforums too). Your power gains are a bit optimistic, but hey, gotta have something to shoot for. The M5 engines dont exactly go for cheap or come up often either. I got mine for $500 from a friend of a friend though

Before xxxx rpm says nothing about powerband.

If discussing powerband I think a suitable formula is to use average power (not tq) within say the top 2500 rpm.

I never joke about horsepower.

MPD47- talking about the 951
But, yes I would use the entire M5 engine. With Motronic, of course.

The BMW Motronic is even worse than the 951. Why handicap yourself.

If you look at the number of hits and count how many adds have been done since yesterday (and maybe also count the word "vitesse" if you are thinking evel) theards like this start making sense. At least they find a lot of interest. So if you don´t reach the targets just post it is unbelivably easy to reach it and rise it further. My suggestion for the next thread:

"my goal : 1000RWHP with stock components starting from 2000rpm till redline"

That would be in fact fantastic but also unrealistic. I would be more happy about a thread called:
-YESTERDAY I reach 600RWHP and this is what I have done to achive it"

The 67mm is a measurement taken from the compresser wheel, I think think it refers to the width of the inducer of the wheel, though it seems more like 80mm looking at my turbo? Hopefuly some one will chime in with where exactly this measuremnt comes from.
Yep, 67mm inducer. If it was a 80mm inducer, it would never spool on an old 2.5l 8v! That's still a big turbo for a 2.5l, though you get mad props for having the cojones to put a manly turbo on that motor! Even though the T4 .58ar housing will be restrictive for max hp, that turbo could probably still break 600rwhp above ~25psi.
