ST nice numbers, good to see keep pushing it. It is nice to see what the absolute limit of the Stage 3 turbo is. I would love to see it run with the intercooler end tanks and turbo hot side set up for these power levels.

I feel there is no way his hot side can flow up top for this HP level, any other car making this kind of power is running a T4 or a huge a/r T3 like on the GT3xR series turbos. I also doubt he is even able to maintane 28psi in the upper rpms. He should have a #10 or bigger.

I would also argue that STs head is not a "bolt on", while he might have just bolted it on his car the Tall BLOCK has been modified drasticly. To me turbos, exhausts, intakes, injectors are more of "bolt ons"

When I see stuff like this, I question why I'm considering building a 2.8 or larger motor for my car. I have a super 75 turbo, and don't really like the lag. I'm getting some new chips tomorrow for the mafterburner and will dyno on Thursday and find where I'm at. That is some serious power for the 2.5. Actually the best I've ever seen on these cars. Dyno queen or not, those are amazing numbers.

What fuel were you using for this run? Do you actually run 25psi on pump gas?

Highboost, while the castings of the blocks are similar between the M30 and S38 the engines are significantly different. It's much easier (although more expensive) to make power on the iron block M5 engine.
Yes the M motors are very good with boost , But the single cam will be a challenge for that kind of power .

The best version of the single cam 3.5 we have worked with is the alpina 3.6 Bi- turbo version , the head flows better than stock. our best todate on a single cam , 689 whp and 740 ft/.tq. ST would have to do a lot on the valvetrain to see 900.

On the M5 motor that would be childs play, on the 2.3L` 4 cylinder version of that engine , we have seen 540 @ 22PSI , so the M engine is no joke.

ST
Over 500 whp on a 2 valve , 2.5 is excellent and the power curve is much better than before , based on the dyno curves it would be a monster in the midrange from a 3rd gear roll..

Congrats

George D, the LR Super 75 is a T3/T67 hybrid. The T67 is a ~75# compressor wheel, and in T3 hybrid form is good for ~650rwhp at the most. That's big for a 2.5l. How much power are you looking for? If 600rwhp is the magic number, for a 2.5-3.0l you really can't do any better then a Gt35r (gt3582r to be exact) with a .82 exhaust IMO. That will provide about the quickest spool for a 600rwhp turbo on a 2.5l. I'm sure there are some hybrids out there from Precision turbo or some other company that might be close in terms of spool.

Sry for OT

But in sweden there is a shop where you can buy everything for your turbocharged bmw from pistons to intake manny's etc... Specially the M-motors

http://www.pure-pf.com/
http://www.pure-pf.com/webshop/ppf_w...alog/index.php (SHOP)
http://www.pure-pf.com/phpBB2/index.phpv (best bmw turboforum)

I know that you like to fabricate most of the stuff yourself but maybe you get some good ideas...

Markus - Looks good.
But I will be "modifying" the fender sheet metal to use a real set of headers, and the turbo will be at least the size of a basketball.

Wayne - you are right, it goes 60-100 in 3rd in about 2 seconds on high boost and high revs at 2580 LBS. This is probably what inspired my friend in the 997TT to give up half way through my 4th gear.

........................

The turbo is the original Stage 3 turbo, however we are using a different hot housing. We saw 533rwhp with the std Stage 3...
The Stage 3 was designed for quick spool, capable of 450-500rwhp. It appears that there is more, even better.

We made few changes to the electronics, that gained some mid-range and got rid of the power dip in the earlier 533rwhp run.
