I understand wanting a real 27 compressor side but does going the cheater route compromise the integrity of the turbo or shorten it's life even if done right? What are the price differences?

I had gathered that it was around $650 to rebuild a K26/6 to a K27/6 using a new compressor housing and wheel from a K27 (not the cheater) which is why for me, it doesn't make sense to have them machine out my k26 compressor housing. Maybe if I wanted to have a stealth look and tell people I had a stock K26, but I don't really care about that.

I've got a cheater from Majestic.
My 26/6 needed replacing and I had a lot of other work needed, so $650.00 was in the budget. I deleted the Cat, new WG, new seals/rubber, put a spring in the WG, EBC running 16 psi, and finally added Vitesse chips for this Turbo with the AFM.... (Ran out of project money before I could get the MAF...)

I think it's a nice package for the money. It's much quicker - butt dyno estimate is around 280 WHP...
Have had no issues with the Majestic 27/6. I'd do it again for something low budget. When I dig in there again it will be with a Vitessse stage 2 plus injectors...
