The OFFICIAL 951 Sunroof Delete Picture Thread!
Well I had this idea for a while and after a few people mentioned doing a thread on it I decided to finally start it. For the lack of info on just how many 951's there are in the U.S. with sunroof delete, I thought we could try and get everyone who has one here on Rennlist to post here and hopefully attach some pictures and some info on their car. And also everyone feel free to post comments even if you don't have one.
Here are a couple shots of my car. Its an 86'. It's alpine white over black with it's original paint, and it really looks great now that I finally got around to really waxing it. I bought it back in November and it had been sitting in someone's garage for well over a year in pieces. I had known the car for several years and was waiting for the owner to say he would sell it to me, and finally it's mine. I have done all the maintenance it has needed such as seals and belts etc. I added the euro bumper about two months ago and it also has original alpine white paint so I didn't have to have it painted. The mods are listed in my signature. I will try to post some more pictures later but I wanted to get the thread going.

Can I play along? It's not a turbo, but it is a late model sunroof delete.......and I do have a turbo in the fleet........
It was going to be parted so my dad and I rebuilt the front end, the rest of the car was perfect, interior, engine, AC - it was all there and workind like new.

Man, i can't live without my sunroof. I absolutely love it. The first time I started looking for a nice 951 to buy I talked with an owner in OK who had one with no sunroof. He explained to me the benefit in his mind, but it was a deal breaker for me. Am I alone here?

Sharky47- Absolutely, you can post pics of your car to. I couldn't decide whether to put this topic in the 951 or 944 section.
Surely there are more of us! So far we have:
3- U.S. Spec 944 Turbo's
1- Euro Spec 944 Turbo
1- 944na
With over 300 views I would have thought more people would have at least posted comments.

I only know of one or two other late N/A's with the delete - I have found it to be more common in the early cars, although both of our early ones have the sunroofs.

danny951: No, you are not. I almost got a 951 without a targa top because I was frustrated with searching for a 951. The owner also stated the many benefits of not having one and although there are benefits, some people's tastes are just different. Luckily the deal fell through and I got an even better one with a targa.
Ironically I just now got back from a 1.5 hour drive through the mountains and back roads around Heidelberg and it was absolutely wonderful. Sunshine, perfect weather, an open top, and an open road. Nothing is better (driving wise anyway)
Have a great weekend everyone.
