I don't get it...if its a hoax, which it must be seeing that the eBay ad is a joke! Then shouldn't some contact eBay to pull the ad? I just do not want to see someone being taken or add to the already lucrative nature of eBay. Also this car is obviously well known, isn't there someone credability on the line?
Weird!

Hey, I used to flip foreclosures here in FL.
Actually getting back into it now. Re establishing my old contacts. I had to get out as I only "flipped" them. i.e. get it under contract from the owner before the FC sale and then flip to an investor. So I had no money involved, becuase I did not have enough to get involved.
BUT.....if someone partner'd with me I could do these more and a lot easier. I do all the work and a silent partner puts up the money........

Well, I just got the real inside info on the car and the ebay ad. Let's just say "it's one big joke" and leave it at that...
The guy does not want to sell. He has established a rediculusly high reserve price to assure this. His goal is get very low bids in the effort to establish a low value. Armed with a print out from the low ball e-bay bids, he gives this information to his soon to be ex-wifes attoney for the settlement.

The auction may have been put up by someone completely unrelated to the owner, a classic scam. If on the other hand the owner is behind this, no matter what the personal reasons may be, this is highway fraud of the most pervasive form. I would hope the stir on Rennlist is sufficient to convince whoever tolerates this auction being maintained up and running that it should end now. Private issue or not, this is a public case of deception.
