Rice? Just do what you want. They look nice. Hopefully the paint will hold up.

I like it but you need to go out and scrape the PORSCHE letters off the caliper so it is shiny again.

I painted my 86 951 calipers w/ brake paint red over the "off-season". Paint has held up excellent, with weekend bleeding and brake cleaner. I took a die grinder with a red roloc disc to restore the Porsche logo, has a "machined" look...do it...

When I did mine yellow a few years back I used VHT rattle paint. Prepped before hand. No problem. Then I used a q-tip to paint the raised letters

I put high-temp vinyl decals on from here (no affil.) when I did mine.

After 18 months, multiple washes, track days, and brake bleeds, they still look like new. I used VHT paint with a clear coat over the decals.

Default Freakin' Awesome

Hell no painting calipers isn't rice...unless you go for some cheesy color that's not based in Porsche history...like teal...or bright blue or something. I did mine yellow, full powder coat and powder coated the rotors black...IMHO I think its great to have something different than everyone else. Good Job!

Just purchased those decals in black to finish the job!!!!

I did mine this way
First I painted them white, then I painted them red, then I polished the red paint off where the "PORSCHE" is written on the calipers, thats how the calipers are now red and porsche is written in white. After that I coated calipers with special wax so every time I wash the car the calipers will be as cleaned as new because the surface of them is really slippery. All the dust and **** is being washed away..

Is it a pain in the *** to get the calipers off and apart for painting? I assume it also means bleeding the system?

Thanks
