Puff of Blackish smoke
Yes I did a search first. "Black Smoke" Whole lotta stuff that did not relate to me!
Ok,
When I mash it and ride it all the way to red line boost almost 2BAR and shift hard I fianlly saw it a puff of blackish smoke. Not dark black or white. Just one, Not streaming on acceleration just a puff
I know that from time to time there is a VAC leak. The Boost drops to 1.2BAR no more.
Car idles great. Authority II Stage II chips, ect. I think the wastegate sticks and I suspect that vac leak is at the cycling valve or venturi!
What could this puff of smoke be from?
- running lean
- worn rings
- blow by in the Turbo
You tell me I am stabing in the dark?

Black/grey smoke indicated a misfire/running rich.
Check the vaccum lines since you 'know' there could be a leak, but since you are running Authority chips, they are notorious for running rich.
Are those boost numbers from the factory gauge? get a boost/vaccuum gauge to get more accurate numbers.

That was my Guess running RICH. I know the 951 has a vac leak. It goes to the shop next week I am haveing a bunch of crap done while I am in FL for 3 weeks. TO INCLUDE THE INSTILLATION OF A LINDSEY VAC LINE KIT! I was in it hard when it did this and normally it does not do this.
