ittia,
Yea, i paid $3800 for my pristine running condition 951 with 105k on the clock. Belts where done before I bought it, it had/has some minor paint issues, but what 20yr old car doesn't?

It'll blow your mind if I tell you what the original purchase price was on my 2nd burnt 951. It traded hands between me so obviously the price went up.

WES: I think I'm going to be sick again.

It's pretty sad when the cost of a plane ticket from Germany to the US and back, purchase of a 951, and shipping of 951 to Germany costs less than what some of these guys want for thier 951's here.

here is a car on ebay and is in nj...you could probably part out the car and get most of your money back.

Schneller: Did you have your 951 shipped to here or did you pick one up here?

I bought my 951 out of Orange County California. The address of the last person who registered it was Laguna Beach, CA. However, I picked it up in Garden Grove, California. Yes, it is option C03; the 3-wire 02 sensor. I paid $5200 and did not even ask for records no reason to listen to the lines of ??????. I shipped my car from New Jersey to Kapuan Air Base; Kiserslautern, Germany!

Welcome to the arms of the Sons of Mercy is my motto! Now she runs great. I personally felt like it may have cost me $500-$1000 to much for an ebay car. But I bid and the dude got paid. That is how she works.

Me for a rennlsit 951 8000-13500 is reasonable price. Ebay no more that $6000 no matter what!

Nice motto, makes feel better already As I am more than likely to pick up a 951 stateside, I wouldn't know until I get to Bremerhaven(?) to pick it up.

I feel like I'm gambling.

I'm looking for a 944 as well (still)
1985.5 and up, somewhere in the $4,000 range (give or take a grand)
Maybe turbo, depends on the car.. and it has to be reasonably close to the NC (western?) region.
Thanks.

Mine was listed for $6500 off autotrader in 2000, talked the guy down to $3500 after a PPI revealed a slipping clutch and old belts. I probably have close to $10k additional in it over the past years, including a $2500 paint job. Almost all my parts were used classifieds/eBay, almost all the labor was my own.

Cameron: At autotrader, there are 2 decent 951's and 5 944 NA's within 50 miles of Yadkin, NC (see link). Not sure what your preferences are but if you look at the 951' s and you don't want to go that route, let me know as I would like to know what your findings are

I got that one for $ 3900.00 it has wasted spark, stand alone, d90 wheels, decent interior and some other stuff. The engine and tranny are okay but the car is going to be part it out.
What can I expect to ask for a 87 Alpine white Turbo with 130k with throw out bearing noise? Car is clean inside and out .... all stock runs very well no smoke tires are good interior is 7-8 out of ten... body paint is 7 out of ten has one parking lot ding and front noise chips paint shines up nice.

will post some pictures later..
