Angry heating and a/c problems

Hey guys, im having troubles with my heating and a/c. when driving the car is always blowing hot air (when in "0" on the fan speed contol it blows like it should) but the air is ALWAYS hot. If i turn the temp control to any setting, it will blow hot air. Not even a difference in the heat, always on full bore hot.

Also if i turn the A/C on i can feel the condensor turn on (load on engine) but there will be absolutely no difference in temp.

Could i have a failing sensor in the car? or do you think it is the temp control ***?

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Have you checked the small rod on the damper door(side of console above the drivers leg). There's a clip and bushing that breaks leaving the controls to blow hot air only. This one of the most common things to go wrong on the later cars. It's easy and cheap to fix but I think the dealer is the only source for the bushing and clip. Hope it's that simple.

My PO spent >$1,000 on A/C work which didn't work. Fixed the heater clip with a zip tie (temporarily) and all was well. Gotta love this fix! If you can't find the clip, do a search for 'heater clip' and you should find some pictures to help you locate it.

Safety wire!! I have a complete air box out of an 86, minus the clips, of course! All the actuators, though, if interested.

cool thx guys. That stupid clip was broken and the mechanism was just hanging. one zip tie later i had cold air blowing!!!

Now if i could only get the AC to work. Are there people who will recharge R12's?

If not how much could you upgrade the A/C for?
