I doubt that POS cycling valve would cause this. Since you have a boost controller though, wouldnt you bypass the cycling valve anyway? If the cycling valve were still hooked up, the car would probally run in limp mode.

You sure you put that wastegate in there right? Mine spiked straight up to ~20 Psi instantly when my wastegate was stuck closed.

Steve,

With the boost line connected to the side port of the WG, why don't you try and charge the line with shop air and remove it quickly - you should be able to listen for valve opening and closing.

With a 0.8 bar spring and a direct line from the intercooler pipe to the side port of WG connected, you shouldn't be seeing 30 psi.

If you are running stock injectors and stock everything eslse. DO NOT EXCEED 15 psi. Also the narow band is a nice light show, that's it. I had one and it did the same thing you are describing, bounced around a ton. Get a real A/F guage (that being said, I need to folow my own advice).

I didn't get the chance to go under over the long weekend so I do not have a picture to do the talking for me. If memory serves correctly, the bolt spacing is different between the exhaust inlet and the dump tube so it is impossible to connect an OEM waste gate on backwords. The dump tube has the holes spaced father apart. Assuming the adapter plates were installed correctly, the same should hold true for the TiAL.

To give you a better understanding of the alignment, the top of the wastegate is pointing to, and in fact resting on, the torque tube with the side inlet port facing the front right tire. The side inlet port has the hose coming from the IC going via the CV.

Again, I want to get a picture for my own sanities sake since it can speak and tell volumes more than I can.

I think it is backwards then. On mine the top of the housing is pointed up and canted towards the front tire

look at the picture in this thread to check your install

That is how I recall mine being installed.

Stealing from the other thread:
It does appear that the waste gate is "pointed" to the rear, towards the driver.

The pipe that is coming off the side is to the dump tube correct? Instead of going off of memory, I will try to post a picture ASAP of mine.

Again, thank you all for the responses.

Well, I think I found the problem...but first. Here is the waste gate installed. Looks good, yes? You have to turn your head to get the proper perspective.

Now. The culprit...I have never seen this happen before. It appears the CV blew itself in two. I will snap it back into place, but what could have caused that and what can I do to prevent it from happening again?

I think instead of getting a new CV for $80, I may opt for a manual boost controller.

Well, the boost is not spot on. The A/F gauge is still reading odd, so I now need to address the fuel issue.

Until you get a MBC, leave the Tial ports totally disconnected and run it off the internal spring. Much safer than what you are doing now. A couple of spikes is all it takes to ruin your next 12 months.

Totally disconnected? You mean run a line directly from the charge pipe to the side port of the Tial. That will make him run on the spring. If you disconnect it completely the Tial will never open.

I thought it would run on the spring even with both ports totally disconnected?

I just re-read my write-up. I meant to say it is "now" running spot on and not "not" running spot on. My bad on the typo.

eclou, why do you recommend disconnecting the hose to the TiAL?
