Default Starting issue.

When starting the car it fires up ok but then immediatly dies. If I try again the same thing happens. The only way to get a good start is to start with the throttle slightly pressed. Then the rpms with climb up a bit and then it will idle fine.

This happens hot or cold.

Suggestions?

Can you take your foot off the throttle once it starts?

You might have a vacuum leak and have the idle adjusting screw on the throttle body turned in too far to compensate for a higher idle due to the leak. Is the idle screw turned all the way in?

I haven't checked the idle adjusting screw. I will check for vacuum leaks first though. How do I adjust the screw? Keep trying to start it and unscrew it 1/2 turns till it starts?

Ill keep the fuel filter in mind. I want to try the easier stuff first.
