FS: 1987 944 Turbo, highly modified, slightly broken =)
Someone PM'd me and mentioned that only paid Rennlist members could see my thread in the classified section, so I'm reposting it here.
So it's time for me to sell the beast. I've had this car since I was 17, and have put an absurd amount of time and money into it. With work taking over my life, I have no time to hunt for parts to fix and enjoy the car. I haven't even hit the track in 2 years .
So, I'll start off with the bad. Rod bearing seized which punched a hole through the block. This ruined the block, the crank, the rods, everything but 2 or 3 pistons, which may or may not be salvagable. Let's just say the whole block is gone.
The good. Well, it's one of the more extensively modified 951's out there. I think a lot of Rennlisters can vouch for how fun this car is and how much work I've put into the car. If you search for my old posts, the entire 2 buildups from 2001 and 2003 is very well documented here on Rennlist. See here for my mods and pics.

The pics in the above thread is a bit old. The car looks exactly like it does in my avatar on the left here. The car basically needs a new block. That's it. 2.5L, 2.8L, 3.0L, it doesn't matter, full standalone makes it a breeze to tune. About 2 years ago I swapped the entire drivetrain out and only got about 10,000 miles on it before the engine failure. Never even got to track the car with the new drivetrain. When I swapped the drivetrain, I left behind a lot of spare parts too. So, here's a detailed list of everything.

One of the fog light lenses is cracked from rock chip.
Windshield is cracked from rock chip.
Rock chips on the front of the car.

Wing has a small tear on it.
Rear windshield wiper motor works, gears shot.
Asking $6,000USD. OBO I'd like the car to go to a good home where the project will continue. I'd hate to see the car get parted .
I've probably left out a lot of minor details as well, but I will try my best to update them when I go home tonight and look at the car.
Here are the pics. I took them this weekend.

Great Buy
This car only needs an engine folks. There are some on Ebay for 2K with low miles. Someone could have this car running fast for 10K, now that's a steal.
I would do it, but my 89 is running great, my LS430 gets me to work, and I have two LX470's. The 2002 is setup for offroading and the 99 is for sale here in Tucson, AZ for 22K OBO.
I'll send pics to anyone interested.

Two questions:
1) Can the car be registered back in the US? Anyone have experience with this?
2) What is the aprox shipping cost all the way to Charlotte NC?

The car can be registered in the US, as it was originally an Arizona car, which was imported to Calgary around 1994. Everything's in miles .
I'm pretty sure you at the border you just cross and that's it. I would double check first, maybe some paperwork at the US customs office.

Can I ask if you have identified exactly why the engine blew and what oil and fuel you have been using?
Thanks
