944 Turbo Cup springs
#18
Hello OdJobb
If I was to buy a new set of Bilsteins for my euro 1986 turbo cup, what springs should I use then to stay as close as possible to orginal ? Meaning also The rear T-bar stays in place !
Thnx
Kristof

Kristof,
Not sure what spring perches you have on the bilsteins front or rear (?). What rear shocks you have and what type of front strut perches may limit your spring options.
The 86 cups used a front spring very similar to a weltmeister 200 or 250 lb/in "progressive" wound spring. Originals are long gone from porsche inventory and I don't remember ever seeing a set for sale (the 87+ cup springs are much more common), so I think the closest you will come is going w/ something like the weltmeisters. The rears are the same barrel helper spring that are used on the 968 M030 rear shocks. I think these are still available from Porsche, and do show up occasionally on the used market. But again, not sure of your shock configuration.
