Default Howlling under the hood, on boost

On the off chance that someone has experienced this..

At ~.5 boost I start to hear a howlling like a distant wolf on what seems to be the drivers side, and my max boost tops at 1. I have paid extra particular attention about charging air connections. Does this sound like an ISV body leak?

BOV is good an tight, it's on the charged side so the propane test is no good (maybe good at idle under vac).

You've got a cone filter, you will hear increased noises from the turbo. Sounds normal to me.

agreed with a maf that sounds normal. I know mine did that with the maf and now back stock it is quiet.

Check to see that the intercooler connections are on tight, if not they will leak under boost.

are you saying your boost gauge only reads to 1 on the stock gauge? if so you have a big boost leak

^^^^ Good eye! I posted the boost press because I know what a turbo/wg sounds like through a maf.

The leak is not that big and all the visible stuff is TIGHT, that's why I'm thinking under the intake. CV is gone but ISV is still there.

Sounds like it's time to mooch some compressor time to press up the intake.

Since the car is operated mainly in Socal, I think I'll just pull it.

*UPDATE* Mechanically eliminating the ISV does not solve the problem and the car refuses to idle without it!

I get that same kind of howling sound, but only at around 1.5k rpm in first or second gear, and only after the car has fully warmed up. to make it go away i need to either let off the gas, or give it some more.

needless to say, it's a pain during rush hour traffic. could it be the same thing? heads definitely turn in my direction if they have their windows rolled down, but it's not the kind of attention i'd like...
