Excellent write up 951Porschiste! For additional info Earl's Hose UK (not associated with them) has PDF technical info on different hose end assemblies. Here is the link for this type of fitting

Also a good book for various aspects of race car mechanics/engineering that includes installation of fittings on hoses is "Engineer to Win" by Carrol Smith; it's almost a bible for anyone who prepares race cars.
