Default Stalling, then hard to start... Weird A/F.

Hello guys,

Got a problem. It's a '86 952, K27, Huntley MAF, ARC II.

Runs fine mostly with LM-1 reading about 14.0-14.4 for cruise. On throttle, it richens to 13.5-12.8 and on boost I go to 11.3-10.8.

Problem is sometimes when I'm driving, no fixed occurence, the car will stall. It's a sudden loss of power. And when I look at the LM-1, it's shows 8.6-9.4 and says, "Too Rich".

I pull out the DME relay and crank. Clears the A/F to about 18.7-20.2. Put the DME back and crank. Back to a too rich situation showing about 10.3.

Sit a while more, crank and it's ok. It has happened a few times and it's embarresing.

I renewed all the sensors. ISV seems to be working. How do I confirm?

Thanks in advance.

Sprint.

>>ARC II or TPS?

Yes, I have the ARC II. It's set at 9.30, 2.30, 11.00 and 2.30.

The TPS seems to work. Am I testing it right? At 3000rpm or in fact, any rpm, I lift off the throttle and I see the A/F on the LM-1 lean out all the way.

Can a TPS have intermittant failure?

Sprint.

The turbo TPS can fail anywhere along its travel.

Just make sure you are not having problems with any of your arc settings.
This is just an old set of documens(in zip format) that might help.
