300whp reliable?
Hello,
Can anyone tell me if 300whp is reliable (or at least not a ton LESS reliable than stock) on a good conditioned 951? Thanks! This is a very general question.

Buy a Vitesse MAF kit and it will be. Air to fuel ratios are so good that I do not see what you would have to worry about other than preventative maintenance as eclou suggested.

I am fairly new to 951's and would also like to get to or close to 300 rwhp. I bought my car with an Autothority chip set, 3 bar pressure reg., and a boost enhancer set to 15 psi.
What are your opinions for the best way to get there with the best use of my money? What upgrades are the best bang for the buck?

For 300 rwhp you should start looking at a better turbo and wastegate, taking any stock turbo there is pushing it outside it's efficiency.
On this forum the search function is really good.

+1.
The easiest (read single source) route is to look at the Lindsey 340 kit and Vitesse kits. Provided the maintenance is good, both will reliably break 300hp. You will need a few extra items for the Vitesse kit (injectors, exhaust) but his products are proven.
Search is king.

Me personally, I saw over 40whp. But, i deleted both the cat and muffler. Do you have a link to the chart?

fourside, call Lindsey, email Vitesse, as this will be very easy to obtain.
Once you make your decision, stick with one vendor(they are both the best for our cars) as it makes tuning and diagnostic work that much easier for you, the end user.

I remembered wrong, there were some gains, 4 hp to be exact..

Dyno with stock car and a gutted cat was 209hp/227tq. With no changes but the full lindsey 3" exhaust, we went to 213hp/234tq, with a very similar curve. A gain of 4hp/7tq over a gutted cat.

Alright one of these days we need one thread that outlines each step of upgrade.
Dyno for:
just a LBE/Reliaboost
Chips
MAF
Shims on the waste gate
Wastegate upgrade( state size and mfr )
Wastegate dump to atmosphere
Exhaust upgrade(which parts)
gutted cat
downpipe(mfr and size)
catback(mfr and size)
Muffler(mfr and size)
Ok so you get the idea....

I gaind around that much just by replacing the cats with a "test" H-pipe on my superchargerd 928.

I have a full Vitesse stage 2 kit with a header and full 3 inch no cat exhaust with a new wastegate, although I haven't put the car on a dyno, my guess is roughly 350 rwhp on 93 octane fuel at 17psi. THe great thing about Vitesse kits is that the power is VERY smooth. 951's have never been an off the line car, but from a roll, there aren't too many cars that can keep up.
