M758, How do you like the Redline Shockproof? When I talked to Redline, they didn't recomend it for the LSD gearbox, because ot has the friction modifier in it. I thought about mixing the shockproof with the non-FM oil, but haven't tried it.

I first put in heavyshoof proof in my 951 S LSD box based the input of Chris Cervelli after I had him replace the syncros in it. He said it was the BEST stuff to use in that box. I also have been running it in my NA open diff race box. Seems to work very well.

Yeah the NA has all of the good options, LSD, sport suspension, good looking driver.......... Avoid friction modifier if you can. It's not very good for the synchros and I'd doubt you'll hear any chatter from the stock LSD set-up. I haven't ordered the fuel lines yet but the list is growing so I should get them ordered soon.
Eddie, Karens e-mail address is brinkare@gmail.com and she's pretty good about getting back with you. That’s a pretty good thing to do. I'm going to pick up his car this weekend and get it going again. It's looking like 20 hours worth of work so it's not too bad because all of the parts are there and ready to go back on.
As Joe stated, the HD shockproof is the stuff to use if you go with Redline.

I have used Amsoil in my RX-7 for 25 years with 0 problems.
In my 1986 951 with LSD I have been using RedLine Shockproof gear lube (the blue color version, I think it is the "light" blend). After a lot of investigation it appeared that the shock proof product would provide the best protection under high loading. I ended up adding a small amount of slip agent to keep the LSD operating smoothly around tight corners. It seems to work great and there are no signs of wear.

The Redline Shockproof Light is the best gear oil to use in the LSD unit. I have used it with my other Torsen differential units with zero problems and major noise reduction. Above and away my highest recommendation for a high perf gear oil product unless you are going for long duration racing applications.

Jeremy, Are you using the Shookproof Redline in your 951? You said you don't have friction modifier in it, but the shookproof already has the FM mixed in it.

When I asked the Redline technical guys what to run, they told me (on two occasions) to use MT90.
Is anyone else running this and if not, why not?

I run the MT90 in my 924S and in my 951. The 951 has 168K on it and the trans quited down completely. We also just changed out another 951 to it. All three cars are grateful!
