Default K27 plumbing pics

I looked throught the archives but couldn't find any of the post-install plumbing configuration, and the "just bend it" install fix doesn't look like it will work for me.

Que gregeast...

as far left (up against the cold side as much as possible)

you need a brass 1" extension on the waterpipe (gold in this pic (the silver on in the last pic is from the plumbing section at the hardware store but it doesn't fit that well))

you don't need to solder down the temp sensor, a silly shop did that.

simple coupling and close nipple, the BSP thread will make up. The above is from OZ951's page on his website. jwl did this on his 2.8L and I just put a pc like this on Rhob's car - works great.

em, what happened to the circled bracket? It supports the front of the intake. I've seen this set-up but I tought is was only for the Garett rigs.

The second photo should have been in my initial post, the vertical arrows show my clearance problems and the horr arrows show how much further the intake has to go down.

I can extend the water outlet another .5" before hitting the intake support, and that should allow me to flatten out the angle of the tubing going under the intake. Oh crap, I see another metric adapter search "from hell" coming!

Mich, I searched for "k27 water lines".

It's just a standard 1/2"(IIRC - it might be 3/8") coupling with close nipple. BSP and pipe thread less than 1.5" will hook up and get tight. Take the banjo to HD, Lowes, Ace and match it up, use the coupling to tighten everything when you install the close nipple to the turbo. by extending the pipe, you can lower it and decrease the angle of the sensor or you can find a small fine thread metric phillips screw, crimp on a round electrical connector to the single wire and hook it up that way too.

jwl has a VR stage IV on the 2.8L, worked very well, I think he heated it up and made one small bend on the pipe.

it's 3/8 NPT. I have had a lot of trouble with this extension cause they are all pipe thread and this is strait thread. well i ended up tapping the turbo with a 3/8 tap. that worked perfect.

the t04e fits the same way but I had to grind down one of the bulges on the turbo's coldside.
some had to remove the vacuum on the bottom of the T.B. and some moved the spring, I had to do neither

Must be good clean livin' but I managed to do this without needing to use the coupler.

I'm sorry I don't have any pics that show this very well but basically I clipped off the bracket, moved the water pipe as far away from the throttle body as I could and then bent the pipe just enough to all me to get the hose over the end.

My solution

With thanks to my brother who machined it for me.
As an aside the first time I didn't use the bracket and after around 30k miles the pipe broke. Second time round i used the bracket bent with a small nut bolt through the section of my turbo I guess was designed to hold a mounting plate (square casting with a couple of holes either end),
Tony
