EGT probe weld...
I know where to locate it, but not sure the best way.
Can I have it tacked in on it's own, or should I have a bung tacked on?
As the probe is by itself with no screw threads, so nut/bung would not help much.
Any ideas???

You'll need to weld the bung to one of the headers and then use the fitting supplied with the probe for a leak proof install. I got a little scared to have folks weld on my headers so I used the factory test port a little farther down and it seems to work really well as my temps correlate to what other people have had. The velocity of the exhaust is so high that a few feet down the line doesn't seem to hurt.

The factory test port is a good location.
You either want the probe close to one of the exhaust port or shortly after all the cylinders have merged. Since the exhaust pulses from all the cylinders are merged there (at the test port) the temp will rise so the distance from the exhaust port doesn't matter.

The test port is just underneath the passenger side of the oil pan. You won't have to pull the headers, but you'll need to pull the crossover pipe to get enough access to it.

I didn't know Pyrometers had different uses, ie. turbo, non turbo, etc.
It is a universal temp probe right? A high temp thermometer...

The pyrometer is the same – its how you mount it. An NA can have the probe held on with a hose clamp with a hole – turbos need a stronger system. The pressure in the crossover pipe/header can exceed 50 psi (of very hot gasses!).
You can get the probes in threaded or nonthreaded formats. The probe its self is not that expensive to get a threaded one.
