Well, that should sum up the debate on Mustang being lower then Dynojet.

Of course most say it is lower as it is more accurate, but none the less, it does show here to be lower then dynojet with all else equal.
Not so fast.
I have a K26/8 Zero has a k26/6. Plus he may not have been on full boost.

This might be a NOOB question but why would you want to develop peak hp @3500 or around the peak tq? Peak hp @3500 sounds like a diesel motor trait? I was under the impression that a motor's "power band" was between peak tq and peak hp and that you tried to match transmission ratios to exploit this such that when you shift from peak hp you hit the peak tq??? Am I wrong here? assuming the revs drop ~1000 rpm per gear and peak tq comes at 3500 rpm shouldn't you be aiming for peak hp at ~4500rpm? I agree that having peak hp at 6000+rpm is not very practical for a street driven car, but 3500 seems waaay low.

Reason is most street driving occurs between 2000 RPM and 4000 RPM even in these cars. What I am trying to learn is how power most cars have running at the basic street speeds and RPM's.

What power the car makes a 6000 RPM is nice, but the power at 3500 RPM is better measure of flexiabliity of that power. Sadly at 3000 RPM most cars are really down on power and between 3000 to 4000 is where the power really ramps up and it not unresonable to run the car in that power range frequently.

Interesting results and good info, Joe. Playing above 4K on the street gets you tickets and an occasional contact with objects ahead of you. Closing rate on "regular" traffic when you're on the boost is like a prototype punting backmarkers during Rolex and IMSA events.

I have a couple of friends who are policeman and they'll tell you that what catches their eye is exactly the kind of stunt that happens once a turbo is wound out...wild closing speeds and sudden darts into available openings.

Fun at 3,500 is less expensive

190RWHP with stage 2ish Guru MAP and shimmed stock WG w/reliaboost. Turbo is a 26/8 and max boost was set to 16, but I don't have an overlay of boost on my chart. Mine is also on a dynojet.

2.5 liter with 98k miles. 190 HP and 285 TQ at 3500. Mods are catback, autothority chips, and K&N drop in filter. I was hitting about 14PSI boost on the dyno.

Results look interesting.

Firstly more displacement = more hp.

Second with 2.5L cars top to bottom is 100 hp or so.
3rd highest car makes it with alot of boost on a small turbo.
