is it possible to remove the cat part, that connects to the downpipe without removing the cross over pipe?

how about if its full length...muffler included?does that make a difference?

I dont actually have the muffler on but this is a lindsay exhaust and i have the part that attaches to the downpipe, and then the test pipe is also connected to it so it adds length. I cant seem to get it out... the test pipe might be a pain in the *** to take off so should i spend time doing that or is there an easy way for me to get this out that i am just not seeing?

What are you trying to do ?

You don't have to bother with the cross-over it mounts to the other side of the turbine housing

It is 3 bolts on the downpipe and then the wastegate dump tube. take apart the exhaust. Much easier, I have the same exhaust.

i have everything undone, i just physically cant remove it. The flange that connects to the downpipe doesn't have enough room to get out. i just want to take the exhaust off

Have you removed all 3 bolts? Have you taken the wastegate dump tube lose? Or taken the wastegate off? If one of those is not done it will not come off. If all are done than it should just slip right out. I put mine in myself with no issues. Post pics of your problem.

dont have a camera where i am right now... I understand the concept of bolts and nuts holding things on haha...

the problem is, the flange has no room to come out between the body and the oil pan, and i cant seem to twist it in a way that will give it the room it needs

You need to work with it. Make sure the cat back part is removed and take the end of the exhaust you are trying to get out (where it connects to the cat-back) and pull it toward the rear of the car and up into the center as high as possible. That normally gets mine big 3 inch out. IF you are having a hard time with the stock exhaust just wait till you throw that 3 inch up there, lol.

I was able to get mine out by turning the cat end toward the front passenger wheel. When it was almost perpendicular to the centerline of the car, it came out fairly easily.
