bare wire, wife and stop watch...or was that bare wife and wire? NO wonder it took so many tries to get it reset!

OK, after replacing the headlight and turnsignal stalk assembly and some other work on the instrument panel that required removing the airbag steering wheel I'm attempting to reset the airbag light during the weekend.

So, some of you found the molex plug next to the DME under the plywood floorpanel?

I lightly tinned bare wire with solder, makes it a bit easier to push into the connector and it tends to stay in better as well. I rigged up the little tool with the momentary switch as described on Clark's Garage and have been able to reset by myself on a couple of occasions.

We cant. After 90' the molex connector is gone. We have to take our cars to the dealer to have the light reset using the Bosch Clawhammer tool

This is on the 1990 S2. I believe it was 1991 and later cars that lost the connector. My 1991 car doesn't have airbags, BTW.

My bad because this is the 951 forum, but I ran a search and this thread came up. Thanks for the response, though.

OK, I just spent some time looking for the elusive Molex connector under the dash in the passenger side footwell of my 1990 S2 and it's looking like Rock is correct.

I guess the cabs all got the late airbag specs?

Yeah I think thats right. 87-89 this will work ok. After 89 though, the 944's all got the different (somehow) airbag system that is even used through all of the 968s.

So, how did you reset it? What does the dealer do with the hammer? Where does it plug into the car?
