What I did was just get an OEM resevoir cap and pulled the bottom part and spring off, then drilled a hole and put a Shraeder valve in it and used the tire pump. Worked decently, until I managed to loose the cap....

I did what Brian did but instead of a Shrader valve, I pull the overflow tube off and connect my Motive brake bleeder for a pressure source. I was afraid to use an air compressor and risk overpressurizing.

I had the UVIEW one, it was crap. I sent it back for a refund. This was about a year ago, it just didn't work as advertised and wasn't worth the price.

How does the fluid exchange work or will this be self evident when I find out what a shraeder valve is?

Also does it matter if you positive or negative pressure to exchange the fluid.

Thanks.

A Schraeder valve is what your tires have, it accepts a tire pump etc. to allow you to pressurize the cooling sytem. I use this method more to find leaks than actually change fluid. Gravity works pretty good for draining.

I did buy a vacuum style fluid changing system from West Marine. It has a manual vacuum pump and a couple of sizes of tubing you can push down a dip stick tube etc. It is great for changing oil in marine engines, lawn mowers etc. I also used to freshen the tranny fluid in my brothers Lincoln. It holds about 5 quarts, cost about $30.
