Fair enough. I guess my Kharma ran over my Dogma.

Sorry. I really didn't mean to offend so much. I did wish you well on your car issues. You are indeed not on a grammar forum but I guess there must be a line somewhere mustn't there? Maybe there isn't...who am I to say?

Gregeast, i had Bob send me a second turbo. I am suppose to send the first one back. I decided to be save and send the second one back and have Bob check it out. Do you think there is a chance that he send me two bad turbo's with the same problem?

Hard to believe that you'd get two bad turbos with the same problem but you don't want to go through the 'joy' of replacing it again so better safe than sorry. I know that Turbo Performance has done dozens if not hundreds of these conversions, Bob has got to be scratching his head over this. Did you tell him you've been talking to me?

333: The funny thing is, I'm as uptight about grammar and spelling as anyone I know, but that's about my own. While J's post was certainly "grammatically challenged" I found that easy enough to overlook considering his obvious distress at having a second turbo let go, which means a minimum of another 3 or so hours to pull the old one, 4-6 to put it back in and then having the 'opportunity' to face the uncertainty of not knowing why it failed in the first place.

And then of course you mis-spelled 'grammar', which was just priceless really. I've been amused by that for a couple of days now, a good reminder to us all about casting first stones and such, LOL.

We know return you to our regularly scheduled programming...

I might have mentioned this before. There are 2 different shafts on the k27's CW and CCw. The first generation had problems with the wheels falling off so KKK reversed the threads. Might want to ask Bob about this.

Many years ago I rebuilt a k26 at home. There was extra threads on the shaft so I double nutted the compressor one. It ran great for over 20k miles when it was replaced with a larger on. BTW the wheels are pressed in not so much torqued.

Default Have you fixed it yet?

Hey JBrown. I was re-reading this post and feeling foolish but I wondered if you've found the cure to your car's malaise? I'm trying to figure out my new setup of Tial 38 and Greddy atm so I hope you're up and running.

Jbrown: I talked to Bob today, and it looks like he found the problem with the turbo. He need some more parts to correct the problem.

Regards,
AL

I started installing the 3rd turbo today. I will finish it tomorrow morning. I will post tomorrow night and let you all know how it went. I have my fingers crossed. Bob was pretty confident that this one is good. God i hope so I am sick of taking the car apart. Talk to you tomorrow

Greg i took your advise and got the turbo from turbo performance. Bob has been very nice about the situation. Andrew i would love a pic if you dont mind.
Hi,

Send me an email to andrew@promaxmotorsport.com if you still need the EBC pic. I'm in Florida, but have the images on my camera phone here.

Regards,
Andrew

Jbrown: Did Bob tell you what he thought the problem was? I'm just curious since I went through this twice as well. 3rd time, so far, appears to be the charm but Bob was not entirely sure what fixed it.

While I was frustrated at having to do this 3 times I thought Bob was great about it and definitely stood behind the work, which, in the end, is all I could ask for.

pro-max thank you but I am good to go.
Gregeast, Bob did tell me what the problem was but I was busy at work so it went right over my head. I remember he did mention something about wrong back plate. My main concern was that he was confident that he had it right this time. I will be talking to him today to let him know that this one is good. I will find out the details.
