Default how many of you still have the bat wing?

as topic/poll.

i've seen some 951's up on the rack at my local mechanic, and they dont have 'em, and i asked if they took em off to do repairs, but they said no, they just didnt have one on there at all.

kinda weird, as all the 951's i checked out before buying mine had it.

just wondering, i guess....

Full Bat Gear on mine plus spares. The wing helps keep the lower edges of the nose from spreading and shaking. Personally I don't think they are that difficult to remove, I wish the oil filters were as cooperative to remove.

They have a nasty way of getting snagged on curbs and odd road drainage channels though.

Yes to all the under-car accoutrements, no to the original bolts & connectors. I bought all new ones so they matched and looked "correct" rather than the hodge-podge that was on there from years of who-knows-who mixing them up. Yea, I'm **** like that.

BTW -- why is it called a 'batwing'? I don't think it even looks like a wing of a bat...

When I bought my first 951 I had one. It had a nice big crack in it and fell apart before the end of winter. I replaced it with an AIR splitter. The second one I bought does not have one.

Splitter replaces the batwing. There is absolutely no need for both.

Jeff, do you have a list of all of the proper hard ware for the wing and the other two pieces? I'd love to have that, as I need to reinstall all of mine and also have a gaggle of crap bolts. TIA E
