I suppose this MAF kit comes originally from Gemany and is made by Transaxle-Tom

That's right

I purchsed only the Scivision MAF kit. I'm using my existing Guru chips. He does have chips, FPR, MAF packages.

cas951,
If the cable is long enough I suggest you put the management box near the brake booster, below AC and brake lines. This is what we did on marcoturbo's and it may be safer than attaching it somewhere in the area of the left pop-up mechanism.
Enjoy ...

Thom is right. Locating the box in this place avoids it to be wetted

Here's a pic

Send it to me instead. I'll give it to him when he gives me my engine stand back. . .

Just kidding man - you can have it long as you need - one less thing taking up space in my garage.

Thanks for the advise. This makes sense. I'll relocate this tomorrow.

I finally got to take it on the Freeway. All I can say is Throttle response is so much quicket and smoother.

what about ultimate gains? Does it have more power, or just greater drivability?

More power? Yes. Better driveability ? Yes. Better throttle response? Yes. It's not so much that it's a lot more powerful it's you can feel the power sooner. Since I already had the chips, wastegate, FPR and boost controller ad 3 " exhaust I don't think I'm going to gain that much in power. I'm sure if I was completely stock and switched to a MAF, Chips, wastegate and exhaust I would be shocked in the power gains. I believe that whenever you switch from a stock AFM to a (any) MAF the most hp you will gain is ~ 10 or so hp and this is from eliminating the AFM which was restrictive. It's the boost that will give you HP. From my first initial drive I had my boost set to 15 psi for the stock AFM. I had to adjust my boost controller at least 3 times to keep from overboosting. That should show how the stock AFM was restricting boost buildup.

Are there any new noises? You think the stock airbox is restrictive at all? I plan to do the same thing, but I'll be tuning with an SMT, and have a cone filter. I'm very curious to see what will happen. At the moment, I have a good amount of lag, and then boost hits fast and hard. I'm hoping for some better results.

Eyal,

No i'm not hearing any new noises. I do hear the turbo spool slightly louder but other than that no new noises. The driveability feels great tho. I'm glad I tried it. I waited a longtime for something like this. As much as I like the looks of the other MAF i just prefer the stock look and not have to worry about our smog checks.

BTW pm me your phone and i'll call you tomorrow if you want.

I thought that mafs run on differnt maps thus an AFM chip will not work with it. Is this not true?
Thanks.

Oh ok, so it will work with no massaging or chip. Very cool. In theory it will not mess up your a/f.
