Jimbo: I was informed that Shane's car had the usual bolt ons, not just the maf/map and turbo. So, i was mis-informed, Shane came in and corrected this, case solved, not usless info. I don't post information that i make up, as some rennlisters believe.

I just put some Nitto drag radials in the back so lets see. i will might cook the clutch or start braking things. I am also sending my turbo out to grt some work done on it. Im having the turbine wheel cliped and having a larger compressor wheel put in as well. car make power past 6800 rpms or so but i need a little more. I will be setting the boost at 21-22 psi this time, them im going after that new Z06. That is why i got those tires becuse i had no traction in first and second and part of third gear. the upgraded turbo should help a little.

The new Z06 is a tall order. They dyno somewhere around 460whp with similar weight.

brad-cam has 100 hp at around 2800 rpm. Isn't that very good with only 10 psi or so by 3100-3200?

Turbo hp is differnt fron na hp. the 944 is a bit of an over achiver on the hwy. I know the Z06 is fast but i am not concerned abot off the line accel. i like racing of the roll. i have raced many old Z06 and vipers and twin turbo 996 with x50 pkg and never lost a race. it feels good to take a 2.5l four cyl car and make a guy feel like crap about his 75k plus and so on investment. there is some thing about these cars specially on the hwy.

I have to agree. A well sorted 944t is pretty fast at highway speeds.

In my opinion, turbo cars lose 5-10% horsepower on the dyno from lack of air through the IC - this only becomes evident in wheel to wheel with NA cars when excact specs are known of both cars.

Shanes car is very fast. I have been in it several times and the funny part is it has no significant lag. I have a similar combo but am not close in acceleration because his engine is rebuilt but the key is in the head/cam I think. A lot of work has gone into the head and it shows. Shane has a 944 GTR head at home and I think, correct me if I am wrong Shane, but that was studied before the work was done to shanes head. The dyno sheets on this list and many others are far from reality but you can see from this one that the curve is nice and it doesnt let up. This car is fast. I just drove a powerhaus car at 1 bar of boost that my friend is interested in and it would lose to Shanes car without question. It was not slow but not what I expected and is another example of fantasy with the dyno numbers. If you really make 350 or so HP your car is very fast but that is not as easy as people make it out to be.

Newbie question: What kind of head work was done? What kind of head work would you recommend for a stock engine with a K27 turbo?
