The checkers was my original concept, especially with the car having a white base, it would have only taken the strategic application of square black vinyl pieces but there's a nationally known 951, John Crosby's ex-PCA F class car ( iirc, now owned by PCA national insurance coordinator K. Laborde) that carries something similar at my own local track.

Can't have two cars with the same theme.....lol

I'll give google a shot.

I vote for a German Flag wide stripe down the hood and turns into flowing German flag colored checkered pieces just beyond the windshield and a little more sparse down the rear of the car. Or beyond the windshield turns into brush strokes ala the old Benetton car.

Not that hard, but it takes time to follow the contour of the fender all the way round the car. I did it the hardway too. masked the white area. Painted the red. Unmasked and then remasked and painted white.

I should have rough masked and over painted white. Then propey masked and then finshed it with red. Too late now.

Sweet. It'd look really good with some black Fikse wheels.

Are those wide body fenders? How was the fitment?

hmmmmm I think it would look good with some black Fikse wheels too...maybe some 17's....? The fenders are not wide body. They are factory fenders just in fiberglass instead.

Will you be running fender liners? If so, how do they fit up against the fiberglass fenders?

Looking really good so far!

Not much in the last couple of weeks Bret.

This aint no JAB racing project ya know.....

Seriously swamped and my car happens to be where I work every day so you know how it goes....customers come first

The wheels that I got a killer deal on are slightly more than an inch too wide (rears may actually clear) so I torn between adapting to the 86 offset in the front as they fit perfect on Scott's 86 turbo or adding 968 type flares ala that red Broadfoot car.

I bought, assembled, prepped, painted and installed GT fiberglass fenders before I bought these wheels so going to wide body fronts is out of the question.

Dean and I (ringo) bought an entire 87 951 wreck so I have have all the fire damaged stuff like the harness, etc. covered.

Currently working on the cylinder head at night so the car should be making a leap in progress soon enough.

Bumper cover and splitter being picked up locally for me in JAX. from Broadfoot.

I'll have the suspension left after that and then the finishing tidbits ....

OR....I could just truck the whole thing over to JWL's place and y'all can finish it for me....

Hey....I've got another idea....I come up to Ar Kansas with a posse and we get your car sprayed and you finish my track car...

Thanks Zero...

Bret, by the way, I'll probably be going to TWS shortly to support a few local 944 racers.

If y'all are there, I'd like to see how your turbo car goes against my friend Phil's lightweight 86 with my old 968 engine in it...

Bring it on, we can just swap - you take mine and respray it, leave me your parts and how you want it to look or finish the egine to start. I'll give it full attention two weeks out of the month.

Not sure on TWS, Jim may try to go to the next one but he's busy with a new house but we are going to Hallett on May 6-7th. Then I'll get the car and we plan on Memphis, Barber, and hey, maybe No Problem. Then Jim will take the car back for the fall/winter TWS events.

Must be that ugly lipstick colored car again! Who the hell picked out that color?

Brett, let us know if you're coming to NPR. BTW, did you ever find the link to that aluminum cleaner?

Is this the stuff?
