No overheating as long as you operate your amp at an ohm load that is recommended by the manufacturer for it. Less expensive amps only want to run at 4 ohms, as you get into higher quality and competition stuff, they can easily do 2 ohms, and many can do 1 or 1/2. But, even with really good amps running at a lower ohm load, they will get warmer than something running at 4 ohms, so don't seal up the amps in an area with no ventillation (good idea for *any* amp though).

The answer to that would normally be "no". I've never heard of a head unit that can be bridged. I guess it's possible, but I've never heard of one.

Yes, I sent you several photos from my hotmail account.

Default Alternative to Zermatt Silver

Porsche + Audi offered an optional exterior color called Metallic Linen in 1989-90 (maybe after as well...) color code = M1U (W5).

Thanks for the stereo input- I'm going to send a PM here in a minute so as not to keep this tangent going...

Brian- have you had any offers yet? I wish it were closer- I'd at least like to see it....

a couple of nibbles, but nothing substantial. no worries.....
eventually, it'll go into auto trader, but i think its just a bad time of year to sell a car. if i find a 996 that i'm interested in, i might start advertising it in other places and/or dropping the price (just a bit) as i think i'm in the right ballpark. its just a pretty small niche of people who know these cars.

Well, this might win the award for bringing back a dead thread but here goes...

I was curious recently as to the disposition of of my 951 that was featured for sale in this thread. I searched the internet with the VIN and found that it was crashed and given a salvage title two years ago. I'm guessing it ended up getting parted out, but if anyone ended up with it, I'd be interested to know who.

The guy I sold it to - not a Rennlister to my knowledge - didn't do anything to it except change the center caps - so many little details that I can see and can recognize my handiwork. Looks like it was well taken care of and had some miles put on her, but that's ok.

Interesting how it makes me feel seeing these pictures - so many good memories. I know that car like the back of my hand and can remember all of the frustrations and triumphs associated with working on her.

The motor in my 944 turbo came from a track / street car that had been in an accident where the owner rolled the car over a bank. It made a few complete tires to roof rolls where a tree smashing the front stopped it. The body had to be cut away from the motor. Once remove I bought it check it over bolted on a new cam and head and checked all cylinders etc. Its been a strong engine for years with no Ieaks or issues. The previous owner who wrecked wasn't injured besides a few scrapes and bumps. The body was a gonner but the engine lives on along with a few other grab me parts he didn't want
