You might want to pull the hub and check to see that the springs holding the parking brake shoes to the hub assembly are not broken. Had a similar problem, and turned out to be those little springs being broke (along with the pads half eaten away as a result).

Had similar sound coming from right rear, also out of the blue. I figured it was CV I pulled the tire to do a prelimivnary check and found nothing, slid the shafts back and forth a bit, put the tire back on figuring I'd start by repacking the bearings. I never got around to greasing because I haven't heard it since and that was about 1500 miles ago.

Thanks!

My left rear is doing the same thing in right hand corners. I've got a new axle with CVs sitting on the bench waiting to go in.

I second what the PorscheDoc said. I had a similar sound comming from left rear. One of the springs holding the parking brake to the hub had come loose allowing the brake to rub the hub.

My clicking ended up being the axles. Instead of getting new ones, I totally took them apart and cleaned all the components. While I was in there and lightly filed down any burrs I found. I put them back together and repacked them with all new grease, and flipped them to opposite sides when I installed them back on the car. So far they have been working great with no problems at all and no more clicking.
