Lightbulb Intercooler Sprayer

Has anyone here tried to use nitrous to spray down the intercooler or even spray into it?? I have a 2 stage NOS kit from my old Mustang coupe I could break up an use to spray the intercooler. But, Im not sure it its worth the trouble??

The problem with the stock 951 intercooler is that it gets a lot of heat soak. It has very limited air flow so it traps a lot of heat. Getting a vented nose panel would be the first stage to reducing the amount of heat soak. Next would be an intercooler sprayer. I have a water sprayer set up right now.

since you have the system just lying around, go for it,It will make a difference theres no doubt about that. I just don't think you will notice it all to much driving around.

Now, as just spraying the IC you are fine, but if you choose to inject at the IC, then, you have some tuning issues to address.

What would be the cost? I have no idea how fast NOS gets used up and or the cost to get tanks refilled.

i always thought about doing this, but how long does the effect last? i mean, assuming you have a vented header panel, and the intercooler sprayer, how long until it just soaks up again?

what happens when an intercooler gets really heat soaked?

For that money you would yield far more results with WI/MI injection.

Cool idea, but dont bother unless you ONLY use it on the drag strip / track. Its simply too expensive to run an IC NOS sprayer daily driving! Water is by far the best alternative and you can control it by duty cycle through temp or MAP or RPM etc with a Link H20 controller. As far as performance, on the dyno I have seen a 10WHP increased with water sprayed on the IC.

Would be nice if you could use that system, but instead of that Loop piece, use a similar piece of small piping and completely wrap the IC pipes and possibly the intake. The you would be running a contantly "chilled" IC and intake manifold.

But I already have the kit I just need to make a nice spray bar.Or I could just shoot 25hp dry shot in the intercooler

But a closed system. And a "coil wrap" approach.

Yes you have the kit, but you need to control the duty cycle to allow evapouration. NE actually sell an IC bar for your exact project.

But It needs to vent to atmophere to move the gas or licuid through the line a closed system will do nothing.

There's no way to do a closed loop system?
