If you really hate yourself......
Install a GT Racing LeMans Wing. It makes a rod bearing job seem reasonable.
I've had one sitting on a shelf for a year so I figured since I have a week off I would install it. I was very dissapointed in the fit quality. I was lucky and two of the 14 bolt holes lined up so it gave me a starting point, but you have to drll quite a number of the holes in the frame as they weren't even close. The wing itself has to have quite a bit of material removed on the underside to get it to sit flush on the hatch glass and the gel coat finish is really rough in the seams and requires quite a bit of filler. What should have been a simple fit, prep, and paint turned into an all day affair. It's fitted up at this point and I need to a final fit and sand before I lay paint but it wasn't worth the effort if you ask me.
On a race car it wouldn't be so bad as fitment usually doesnt need to be perfect, but on a street car where you would like it to look fairly original and not like a vader kit on a Civic, it's a real PITA. I've installed quite a few glass panels over the years and this one was by far the worst fitting. It would have been quicker and less effort if I built it out of wood.

Here is a poor shot of one...we were lucky and got this off a wrecked car so the hatch was already mounted. However, the PO said the guy who installed it spent two days getting everthing to fit.

Jeremy,
I have also been concidering the Le Mans spoiler. I believe the Le Mans car also had a splitter to balance out the aerodynamics. I have purchased the AIR front splitter and it installed easily with no fitting required. What are your thoughts on this, do you plan to run both the wing and splitter?
Ski,
I see that your car does not have the front splitter. Does your front get light at high speed?

there is a thread in the archives (for those that reallly want to dig) where it was explained that the GT splitter was the best choice to balance the car with the Le Mans spoiler....When I get time, I'll try to dig for it.

we have the GT racing full front splitter for the car, it's just off in the photo. The car runs great, doesn't get light and very flat in long fast sweepers.

bret eveytime I see that car I get jealous.
that was a really cool build up thread you had on it. Very intresting to see the transformation from when you guys first got it.
I think it broke some records on timeframes. I never saw a race car come together so fast.

I also have the GT splitter that I'm putting on (sitting on the shelf for a year). IMO, the GT is a bit more functional than the AIR but the AIR is by far nicer looking.

Has anyone ever done a true comparison of either? I'd like to know if both are actually functional (beneficial) and to what degree. Having said that, I still have the AIR on my car without any data to support having it. I just really like how it looks.
