pss9 is a good street with occasional track setup. You can definetly do better, without the cost and custom work. I've said it before, but I'm a koni fan. You should look into the 3011 or better yet, the 3012 series.

I hope they never release PSS9s for our cars, talk about a ripoff shock! Incredibly crappy performance for the price you pay.

here are the REASONABLE options.
Leda's from Chris White at 944ENhancement. 24 way adjustable, Fr anf Rr. about 2300..
Bilstein Escort Cups...Paragon or LR about 1800 total non adjustable but very good and a proven product.
Konis' either 2 way adjustable and sport rears or 3000 series fronts and 2800 series rears Paragon. They are THE Koni people.
You can go up to the next notch with Leda, Moton, Penske, Ohlins, Protrac, etc, but it's probably not worth it if you won't be living on the track.
You can either delete or keep T-bars. If you keep, you're most likely in for a reindexing. I would replace the stock caster blocks with the 968 caster blocks if it hasn't been done.
You can also replace sway bars. You can go with the M030 set up from Paragon, for about 500.00 bucks fr and rr.
You can go with Weltmeister adjustables sways, or terrets, for about 200 or so bucks more. Both can be bought at Paragon, and some other vendors, but Paragon is VERY competitive in pricing, and you can bank on the knowledge and service from Jason, Chuck and Skip.
Beyoond that, you might look at www.elephantracing.com for poly bronze bushings for various suspension points, especially the rear spring plate bushing. (certainly next on my list)

As for rates, the Leda's will be manufactured to your specific spring rate specs. That's really hard to beat on any sytem with 24 way adjustment for under 3.5k.
Escort Cups can be revalved to your specs, in short order by bilstein USA.
Ask Paragon about Koni's.
The other high end set ups will all come to your specs but will be in the mid 4k range. Those above are all in the <3k range, with the Cups being least expensive.
That should get you started.
