What is this hose? It's about a half inch diameter, and it attaches to the radiator right above the big main hose. I colored it blue in the pic. The little plastic bit that screws into the radiator was leaky, and I managed to brake it clean off. Unfortunately, now most of my coolant is on the floor, and I'll have to do without a car for a while . Doh. Anyway, where does it go to (or come from)? I may as well know what it is now that I've broken it .

Any suggestions on how to get the rest of the plastic barb out of the radiator? I'm thinking heat up a screwdriver and try to unscrew it...

I'm not sure I fully understand your question - do you need the hose or do you now need a radiator?

i think your trying to say you broke the bleed nibble.

Neither, I need the piece in between. There's a plastic piece that screws into the radiator and has a barb on the other end that the hose goes over (which is tightened down with a hose clamp). That plastic bit is what's broken, it's number 45 in that picture. The threaded part broke off inside the radiator. I was just curious where that hose actually goes.

The part you broke has wrench flats. Getting to it is a major PITA, but not impossible. Being plastic, these things will harden and develop stress cracks, so I always keep a spare on hand.

If there's bits floating about in the radiator you'll need to either remove the radiator and fish it out but I'd try flushing them out first (easier).

I was able to stick a big straight-slot screwdriver into the remainder of that fitting and screw it out. It's plastic, so much easier to remove than a broken bolt. Funny how Porsche is, they over-engineer 99% of the car, then use a plastic fitting (and drain plug) on the radiator. They break all the time. Most of all the 944 parts places stock them.

Yeah, I had the same problem with the drain plug about two years ago, I actually got it out really easily, but I keep an extra handy also. I didn't even know this existed until it broke, I guess I'll order two.
