Oh, and you should absolutely come. I wouldn't mind giving you a ride around a track and show you what it's like (you can attend the classroom sessions for novices, if you keep quiet, for free), and get a good idea of what it'd be like your first time out. I go 1-2x a month, so you should def. let me know if you want to come w/me.

I'm glad everything worked out and you could take the car there. Looks like a good time.

How long have you had this black 951, and where did you find it? Also, do you mind sharing the purchase price?

Thanks Ahmet, I appreciate it. Yeah JJ's car is a blast if he ever gets it back together. I appreciate the offer and I may take you up on it sometime.

Thanks for the compliments, I will continue doing more events, regardless of what I'm driving! This event did include quite the variety of cars, and drivers. We had cars doing well over 160 down the straight, and those that couldn't make it to 110...

If you have interest in the car, please contact me directly.

Dave, the event was @VIR, I could've sworn I saw you on the roster a few weeks ago, but then cancelled?

I love the color, it looks great on the car. It is high maintenance though, and it's not as "pimp" as red either. A clean and shiny red 944 T really does turn some heads...

Dave, hope to see you at the next event.

mroberts, it was with Chin. This event was actually pretty poor, especially compared to how it could've been. It was fun, and I got a lot of seat time, but like I said it could've been better. Anyway, I'm thinking about running Moroso w/chin next weekend!

You guys should join me and the people I already drag out to these things.

500 miles of track time... must be nice.

I'm a Cobra fanatic also... how did that FFR Cobra pair up against the 951 (oh I can't wait to hear this one...)?

I will tell you but please note that it's not a fair comparison of the cars abilities as driver skill level plays a big part, as well as how hard each person feels like pushing...

I passed every cobra I came up on (at least 5) and did not get passed by any. I am an advanced level driver, and did not note if/how many of these people were not in advanced. Just to be fair I also passed a 600+hp viper on R comps/custom wheels +brakes, while I also got passed by an e30 (which had FAR less power than me). I could still touch 130-135 skipping 4th gear and shifting early.

Anyway, I did not push very hard for a quick track time, but forexample I worked on compressing my braking zones (and I do brake deep), and I like to dance with the car on the (very) high speed uphill S' and the lower S' as well. I probably make up the time I loose through the slower stuff (bone stock suspension keep in mind) by my will to push through the high speed stuff.

Overall the track was crowded, speed difference between cars was very high, perhaps unsafely so. I am not very happy with the stock suspension set up of the car, ofcourse, but the fact that I finally have a car which lets me keep up with and pass C5s and 993 twins on occasion is nice. Last time I was at VIR with my 944 NA, I could not pass most integras down the back straight because I had no power. Now I have to lift so C5s that are lapping faster can safely pass me, and I do like that in a perverted sort of way. If nobody decides to buy this car, I will prbably start putting money in the suspension, and man do I like the feel of my turbo S, but I do feel obligated to take it easy on the car since it's so clean. Always a trade off there.
Ahmet
