Sorry if there is already a thread about this, I searched and couldn't find what I needed.

About a month ago I was at a stop light and the truck in front of me backed up into me. His hitch tore threw the front end of my 1986 951. I almost cried. I am now gettin around to repairing it and have a few questions about parts.

The list of parts I need is:
Front bumper
headlights and all the assembly to make them go up
hood
radiator all the hoses too
intercooler all the hoses too
driver's side fender
the peice that goes between the headlights
there maybe other parts but these are the main ones.

First off where is good places that I can find decent priced parts. I don't have to have new parts just parts in a decent shape. Is there a place that has sells good used parts? (I've looked, of course, on ebay and many of the junk yards around my area and have not really found anything.)

Another question I have is which of those parts listed are 951 specific. What I mean is which parts are the same on the N/A 944. Are the fenders the same? Is the radiator the same? I was looking at getting a parts car but have not found a good 951 parts car and was wondering how many of those parts I could get off of a N/A 944 if I bought one for parts.

okay, I'll try to help you.

As for suppliers, start with ebay. TONS of parts on ebay.

as far as an NA, numerous parts are different on those cars other than the body work on the late model S or S2's. They have mostly common body work.
Once you have PET, you'll be able to identify exact parts, and part numbers. You should be able to go from there.
Ebay is definitely your friend!

Difference between NA and Turbo:

* Nose panel (front piece between headlights)
* Bumper
* Bumper undercover (aka "batwing" as called on a 951)
* Fog lights
* Front turn signals
* Front driver/passenger panels
* Not sure about the headlight covers (you'll have to check PET)

Headlight covers and fenders are also different. Only part in front of the doors that is the same is the hood.

Thanks for all the help so far, I am finding alot of the parts I need except for a decently priced intercooler. Mine is busted so I am going to have to pay for a core, seems like it will cost me over 600 because I don't have a core, any suggestions. Thanks

Ebay usually has intercoolers for a little over $100.
