Default Which Fuel Pump ?

I'll be replacing my stock fuel pump soon. Do I really need the Bosch 044 pump
or will the Bosch HV pump do the job just as well for my application??

Thanks

044 would be a nice upgrade but you would
need to do a slight mod to the fuel line to get
it fitted. Me, I running a 928 fuel pump which
should be enough.

I would get the 044.
Which is the HV pump?
Remember - YOU CANNOT GO BY HP RATINGS FOR NA CARS WHEN SELECTING A TURBO FUEL PUMP!!!
And you with Vitesse stage 2, SFR headers, etc. - better get a real pump, dude.

Tim, I recommend the 044 pump (which I stock with adpaters ). Very simple install!

Lindsey sells a Bosch "HV" pump. They say it's good for over 400hp. ???
It's half the cost of the 044.

I know the 044 is the way to go but was wondering about the HV pump.

A 400 rated NA HP pump is nowhere NEAR what you need!!!!!!

Your car will tax this pump at 4500 revs when it is tuned.

No. When I say that I mean that these ratings are given for other than forced induction engines.
You are supposed to gve 20% handicap.
So the 044 should be good for around 600 CRANK.....................

Thanks for that bit of info. Didn't know that.
Rolex says the 044 is a bit noisey. Is it worse than the injector ticking?

It makes noise - but its quieter than a piston with a hole in it.

Your turbo with those headers will move A LOT of air efficiently. You will be able to run even more boost than other stage 2's because the SFR headers lower EGT's by hundreds of degrees.......

Dont get me wrong here, so hold on. First, you need to determine your BHP goals. Thats the most important. As ST says, you need something that will support your goals, and not be working at its limit. But yes, with the 044 on my car, I do hear a little bit of a clunking noise coming from the pump while the car idles. When I am driving the car under PT or WOT, I never hear it. And it is a bit louder than the injector noise too. I am speaking from my experience, not hearsay. Just always run the car at WOT and it won't ever be an issue!

ST: You are a pisser. A piston with a hole in it! But you are 100% right!

Good for you. Now you can crank the boost and make 600 like ST!

My Lindsey pump is a bit noisey at idle in the colder temps we have now, quiet in the summer.

The 044 pump ( from John ) is on my to do list.
