The connector to the rear defrost on the driver's side has become unglued:

This is where it should go:
I noticed that on the passenger side, the connector appears to be held in place by some sort of black tape:
Is this black tape the correct way to hold the connector in place?
If not, can it be soldered? I'm afraid using a soldering iron will make the glass crack.
If using tape is the correct way to hold it in place, can I use any sort of tape or is this a special type of tape?

Most auto parts stores sell a conductive glue for repairing exactly these types of failures. They might be marketed as a defroster repair kit.
