Default Stuff from Lindsey and Vitesse :)

I'm doing a complete upgrade to my fuel system and got some boxes in the mail recently

From Lindsey:
Billet fuel rail and fuel lines
Fuel filter
Fuel injector and knock sensor harness
gauge panel

From Vitesse:
55# injectors and resistors

Previous stuff I had:
AEM fuel pressure regulator
Autometer fuel pressure gauge (not pictured but sender is attached to FPR)

I'll also be picking up a GTS fuel pump.

Make sure you use loctite on those 2 bolts on that fuel rail.

Nice gifts for yourself by the way.

I love the Christmas season........

I too went and got the fuel rail and new fuel lines, i still get a bit of a knocking sound.
This is what Dave says :-

The other thing I have done which seems to help is install additional o-rings on the fuel injectors.
You need to get a o-ring that would fit on the injector above the original one. You slide it over and past the existing o-ring and cap to where the injectors gets larger. It should rest there where the injector starts to grow and angle out to the larger portion. That is where the injector comes in contact with the intake manifold. Metal on metal. That o-ring serves as a cushion.

I have not had the time to sort this out. Do let me know how this goes if you decide to try it.
Cheers.

T=Hello ,
The knocking sound that you are now hearing is becaused you have changed
the fuel rail and i assume the pressue regulator and fuel damper.
So now with the new fuel rail there is no damper. So you are now hearing the fuel pulse passing through the new rail, Sounding like a engine knock.

make sure non of the fuel lines touch the body of the car at the firewall this will amplify the noise.

The tolerance is very tight on the Lindsey rail.
It is very nice.
However, you CANNOT let a retard install it.
The top of the injectors MUST be installed first, because any variation from 90 degrees upon installation will result in damaged seal and leakage.
If it is installed correctly, it is very positive and well sealing. Better than the Porsche rail.

Thanks for the tips guys.

The stuff is gonna be installed in stages. It all started due to a crack in the stock fuel line from the rail to the damper. I decided to just drop ~$1,000 and get it all changed out. The "plan of attack" is as follows.

1) Install Rail, FPR and Fuel Pressure gauge (still use stock injectors)
2) Install Fuel Pump and Fuel Filter
3) Install injectors, ballast resistors, injector and knock harnesses.

I also got some knocking from my LR rail. Havent been able to sort it out yet, but theres several things we can do with the knock! 1, turn up the radio. 2, turn down the windows!

Wrong, there is a damper with the new rail.

You can get a short pc of hose, get ends that will fit the fittings, make one loop in the fender well with this hose, then to the fitting going to the fuel rail and this will eliminate 50% of the little tick. Then it goes away about 1200 rpm instead of 1500. One great benefit of the rail is that the fuel is about 14° cooler going into the injectors, since so much fuel is going through the rail,.

Default Mounting the SX Fuel Press Regulator

Hey, if you want to know where to mount the LR SX FPR AND keep your cruise control I can show you how. I fab'd a backet that nicely mounts the FPR. Let me know if you are interested and I can send some pictures.

Thanks but not necessary. I ditched my cruise control awhile ago. Never use it here in Hawaii, either there's too much traffic or there's no traffic and you're there already .
