Default Early steel a-arms on 86 951

I would like to install new early steel a-arms on my 86 951. My questions are, What other components are needed, and I want to know how to reinforce the a-arms for track use. I have the sperical bearing kit from Racer's Edge, early bearing kit to be used with steel arms on an 86 951 w/ stock spindles/brakes/wheels...

I have the modified steel a-arms made by Blaszak which have held up great on the track. Mine require using the 924S caster blocks, otherwise everything else fit the same as stock.

You will need the early sway bar mounting brackets as well, they mount differently on the alloy arms.
You can run a seam weld along the valley of the control arms two stamped pieces.
Im in the process of this myself, but im using urathane bushings all around.

Anybody have any pics? The mods done are 1.)welding all seams and/or 2.) adding plating to box arm in. thanks

I have this setup on my SCCA ITE 951 and I'm very happy. I reinforced mine with steel brackets welded along the outside seams. Also I've drilled holes through them for the sway bar links and reinforced them with large welded washers. I have Weiltmeister urethane bushings at the moment but I plan to go with the Racer's Edge spherical bearings for next year. As eclou said, pair of caster blocks from a 924S or a pre-85 1/2 944 is needed. By the way, I know of several 944's racers that have been running on unreinforced steel control arms for years without any issues.
