Default Christmas shopping for dad... What to get?

Ok. the car, 1988 Turbo S.
Mod list: Lindsey stage II intercooler, APE chips stage II, banjo bolt.

we are thinking a wastegate, TiAl 38mm, an exhaust, or other around $300.00 (I know exhausts are more than that... but just a baseline for costs)

What ONE item do you think would be good for the car? priced around $300.00 over is OK, but not much...

Tial 38mm wastegate was the best purchase i ever bought. Just buy him a nice boost controller when you do (one that you can run inside). just make sure he doesn't turn the boost up because the chips are not designed for high boost.

Does he take that car to the track? If he does, does he have upgraded shocks/suspension. Does he have an extra set of wheels/tires? That is absolutely essential imho for track upgrade. I haven't driven my car close to the limit on street tires until earlier today. Not fun. Joe Mitro is selling some wheels with khumos attached here https://rennlist.com/forums/for-sale-ads-member-to-member-fs-wtb-free/240047-new-kumho-v-700-tires-for-sale.html

Track wheels are hardly essential. Nothing wrong with running street tires on the track, in fact, most people should. R rubber gives very little warning of when you're approaching the grip limits and tends to let loose suddenly.

yeah, it's a track car. I'm well aware of R compounds and their break-away-itude

How much is an accuboost aside from the $345.00 chips, and where can one get it?

depend on how little bling he like but get the lotec a-pillar gauge pod and get him a nice boost gauge and another gauge (i would go with oil temp). Not exspencive but a very nice thing to have.. If not you can get him gauges to go under the stereo.

The wastegate is clearly the best idea. If he is still running a stock wastegate he will notice a huge improvement, even at the same boost level.

Tial, cause if works for your price range and easy to wrap. Then drop a boost controller in your stocking.

You KNOW you're buying that car. . . So personally I'd think buying mods for it kinda' like that episode of the Simpsons wher Homer buys Marge the bowling ball. . . I'd say maybe get him something for that is more universal or perhaps not car-related at all. Or something for that new Cayman he wants.
