I bought the whole set from a guy who was parting out a race car. I never got to see the plates.

Okay, after further review here's your answer.

What you pictured are spacer bearings used to create better articulation between the upper strut mounts and the struts themselves. Basically it's a bearing and joint used to better make it all one functioning assembly from the top strut nut, all the way to the bottom of the struts.

dlgranison made something similar to work with the monoballs (that he also fabbed) that I'm now using for my bilsteins. His is a bit less complex but has the same effect.

So they don't attach to a camber plate?

the first thing I would do is contact the seller and find out exactly how he had it set up, and what camber plates he used. They can be very different from say Ground Control style plates to Racer edge style plate. They could also have been designed for a straight monoball setup, (BUT I highly doubt that). Also, if you already have spring hats, and you do, you could just use the stock upper strut mounts and this part wont matter.
So, you REALLY need to find out how exactly that race car was set up. E

part of the upper strut mount. most likely bolted to an aftermarket camber plate, you need to find what brand or setup it was from. Skip at paragon may be of help here. Oh BTW at my shop we call them catastrophic diverters!
