Default Looking for a good machine shop in the Atl Area....one F&$*ed up my flywheel already

I'm in the middle of a clutch job on my 951 and need to get the flywheel resurfaced. I'm worried that if I just take it anywhere, they will leave a radius between the face and the outer lip that holds the pressure plate at center resulting in the pressure plate resting or partially resting on the radius rather than on the flat face. Can anyone recommend a reputable machine shop in the Atlanta area? Thanks.

Well, I can tell everybody where not to go. The Napa on Peachtree Industrial Blvd. in Norcross just F'ed up my flywheel! He took material off the lip that the pressure plate sits in to. This lip is essential for centering of the pressure plate. Would you believe he tried to claim it would make no difference? The bolts can't keep it centered for crying out loud. He finally agreed to look for a used replacement. What a PITA.

I now have a recommendation for The Clutch Exchange in Powder Springs. Long drive for me but it'll be worth it if they know what they're doing. It seems to NEVER fail, whenever I have to rely on someone else to do anything for me they mess it up. Guess that's why I do as much as possible myself.

Have you tried Eagle Automotive Machine in Auburn? If you live in Dacula it's just down the road from you. I've had them do 2 heads for me with excellent results. I imagine they can cut a flywheel as well.

I can also vouch for clutch exchange in PS as that is where I live. 10 minutes and you'll have your flywheel. If you decide to make the trip, give me a call (404-245-4209) we can hang out for a few if you want.

Albert, Thanks so much for the recommendation. I gave Eagle a call and definitely got good "vibes" from them, something I didn't get from any others including the one that ended up messing up my flywheel. And they are so close for me too.

I do on occasion get out to Villa Rica to visit a friend, so maybe I'll call you sometime. If you get over to Eagle again, give me a call at 678-482-8366.

I just sent mind to Lindsey racing and they returned a re-surfaced one for $75.
Done.
